The National Rehabilitation Hospital Selects MediServe to Support Inpatient and Outpatient Rehab Services

WASHINGTON, DC AND Chandler, AZ – The National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) in Washington, DC has contracted with MediServe for the implementation and support of the MediLinks solution for rehab medicine.  Through this agreement, the NRH anticipates recognizing revenue enhancements and cost reductions through implementation of MediServe’s proprietary information system and consulting services.  These services will be delivered in the NRH 137-bed inpatient rehab facility (IRF) and in its extensive outpatient rehab network.

For more than a dozen years, U.S. News & World Report has ranked the National Rehabilitation Hospital as one of the nation’s Top 10 medical rehabilitation facilities in its annual ranking of “America’s Best Hospitals.”

“The National Rehabilitation Hospital went through an exhaustive process to find the ideal partner with the industry knowledge, track record of results and discipline focused technology,” said Edward Eckenhoff, NRH Founder and CEO.   “We anticipate that our partnership with MediServe will help us continue our drive toward ever-improving quality care and high patient satisfaction supported by an even stronger and more sustainable bottom line.”

According to John Rockwood, Senior VP for Administration at the National Rehabilitation Hospital, “NRH found that MediServe is the only company that has demonstrated a thorough understanding of our workflow requirements and offered the products and services designed to optimize the business and clinical processes required by our industry.  By combining our efforts with MediServe, our clinicians will be better enabled to practice their specialties in a manner that improves both efficiency and patient outcomes.  We look forward to streamlining those processes while simultaneously capturing key data to augment our research capabilities.”

The National Rehab Hospital will work with MediServe to enhance compliance, maximize charge capture and reduce documentation errors. MediServe's services have helped its clients improve efficiency and reduce documentation errors by as much as 98% in the inpatient environment.

“We are very pleased to be working with such an esteemed client as the National Rehabilitation Hospital.  Our 20 plus years of delivering value oriented services in the rehabilitation industry give us great confidence that the clinical and financial impacts to be recognized at the NRH will be significant,” said Bruce Mortensen, MediServe’s Founder and CEO.  “We are looking forward to a long, mutually beneficial relationship with the National Rehabilitation Hospital.”
