REAL automated protocols since 1993! MediLinks software includes the ability to integrate protocols into documentation through branching logic – and has been part of MediLinks and live at multiple client sites since 1993.

MediServe's Respiratory Care Protocols can be implemented as a manual process, automated as part of the MediLinks implementation, or can be built by the client after the system is implemented. MediLinks can be utilized for “single treatment” or a more comprehensive “all therapy” protocols program addressing patient needs, clinician preferences, and hospital resources.

Based on AARC Clinical Practice Guidelines that are adapted and customized for the hospital, Respiratory Care Protocols can recommend best practice treatments, issue / trigger new patient orders, notify the clinician of abnormal or adverse patient responses to treatment, reduce unnecessary therapies, and assist with defining goals & appropriate treatment plans. Automated protocols have been empirically proven to be beneficial. They are developed to generate alerts, individualize instructions, and can be configured with complex rules related to patient care.
